In the Little Suns workshop, you’ll paint “your sun.” It will come from your memories and your imagination - how it appears or how it feels.

When your painting from today’s workshop is added to the large “Little Suns United” sun, it is part of a unified field of light that illuminates the path toward a peaceful future.

Barbara Diethelm studied Fine Arts as well as Humanities and Applied Science. Besides her career as a painter, since 1995 she has been leading the family business, Lascaux Colours & Restauro. She and her husband, Werner Schmidt, founded the charitable foundation, Fondation Lascaux, which promotes the importance of colours for a new consciousness – one that embraces a holistic view of culture, science and economics.

Werner Schmidt, painter, educator, and co-founder of the Fondation Lascaux. For him, the ethics of artistic practice represent a central value. He has remained a painter, but his studio is now his wild garden. Here he observes, watching like a shepherd who watches the movements of his flock. The central focus of both his artistic practice and his teaching: humility and wonder at the miracle of creation.
